We have a great opportunity for experienced, mature candidate who dare to tackle the responsible job of Operation Manager for our client who owns precast plant in Great Britain. This job is based in England / East Midlands.

 

This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the business from project award to completion and payment. You will also have a support role to the Business Developing/Estimating function and will have responsibility for the commercial success of all projects, although the MD will retain a strong ongoing input here.

 

The responsibilities of this role will be as set out below. To ensure an efficient introduction, after the first 4 weeks, present to the MD for agreement a clear set of KPIs to ensure there is agreement and to measure effectiveness of the performance of operations under your control. This must include a report template for regular reporting, minimum monthly.

 

 

Role:

Production Generally, managing the Senior Production Supervisor and his team;

  1. Health & Safety; responsibility for all aspects of compliance – implement full compliance with current standards
  2. Training – as above
  3. Maintenance, preventative and planned – JCB/cranes/ batch plant/equipment, etc.
  4. Logistics/deliveries – manage efficient operations and control of third party costs of cranes, trucks, etc.
  5. Labour and efficiency – to meet budget and quality standards
  6. Productivity – to meet set budgets, signed off by MD
  7. Planning and achieving targets of increased production throughput, to continue efficient growth of the business
  8. Quality control – to meet high standards and satisfy clients
  9. QA – update QA system, maintain/improve registration, CE Mark, etc.
  10. RFI/Client interface/factory visits
  11. General overall tasks which impact on above

 

Design Generally, managing input from design manager and his team

 

Project Management, managing PM and on/off site crews and general; 

  1. Monitor design costs and finished goods costs against budget and seeking agreement of variances for any changes.
  2. Ensure proper advance planning and procurement of all required materials, with PM and Buyer
  3. Ensure all variations are captured and reported to company QS and followed through to payment
  4. Commercial control – manage and work closely with the QS to ensure he gets all required paperwork to achieve success in payments/variations. The MD will retain a strong input here
  5. Work closely with the Business Development Manager to win orders and develop new opportunities for the business. This will include promotion of the technical advantages of our business and promoting our design/build abilities, to consultants/clients/contractors.
